History Comes Alive!

Mrs. Harrell's 8th grade Social Studies Westward Expansion Projects - Students were given a choice of various projects to do in order to show their knowledge of events and concepts they learned in the Westward Expansion unit. Many students chose to build covered wagons - used by pioneers on the western trails - and the Alamo Mission - site of the famous battle in the Texas war for Independence. Others did a Six Flags Over Texas project, researching and creating the six national flags which have flown over Texas during its history.

TMS Handbook Electronics Policy
á
The following is the electronics policy as stated in the TMS handbook.á In addition, signs have been placed outside of all restrooms as well as inside and outside of all locker rooms stating that these are technology free areas.á Technology is prohibited in these locations at all times. We will continue to work and communicate with students and parents to make TMS a place where students feel safe and supported.
á
Students may bring cellular phones, mp3 players, gaming devices and other electronics to school.áHowever, they may only be used prior to the morning warning bell, during lunch, and after the dismissalábell unless special permission is given by a TMS faculty member or administrator. The right to useáelectronic devices during the school day may be revoked at any time by school administration. Studentsáwho violate this policy will have their devices turned in to the school office. First time violators may pickáup their device at the end of the day. Second time violators will need to have their device picked up byáa parent or guardian. Further violations may result in disciplinary action which may include loss of theáprivilege of possessing electronics at school.áStudents who choose to bring electronic devices to school are responsible for securing them in a safeáplace. TMS will not be responsible for lost or stolen items.
